Maxwell Harvey-Sampson
Reverie
Opening Reception Friday, June 7th 5 - 7pm
Reverie by Maxwell Harvey-Sampson encapsulates his recent foray into printed matter and collage as sites to explore memory, trauma, healing, identity and sexuality. Drawing from Maxwell's twelve year archive of photographic images, Reverie postures the highs and lows of healing as a celebratory concept, asking the viewer to position themselves in the world of the subject's gaze, while also arriving with their own filters and biases.
Maxwell Harvey-Sampson is a current MFA candidate in Cornell's ImageText low residency graduate program. Maxwell has been working in writing and photography for twelve years, often bringing together his own personal archive and journalistic materials to create new contexts for his images.
