Ithaca's newest progressive funk-fusion trio, Pocket Bandits, is releasing their first single! Inspired by boundary-breaking instrumental dance bands like Soulive and Snarky Puppy, Joe Massa (guitar), Samuel B. Lupowitz (keys), and Simon Bjarning (drums) imbue their original compositions and fresh takes on classics with elements of funk, prog, jazz, rock and more. To celebrate their debut release, the band will be joined by special guests, including a set backing up visiting singer-songwriter Mark Hennessey, in town from eastern Maryland.
