Killdeer Trio is an instrumental trio co-led by bassist Evan Jagels, drummer Sebastian Green, and guitarist Wyatt Ambrose.
Individually the members of the Trio have worked with acclaimed musicians of various styles including Stacy Dillard, John Stowell, Arlen Roth, Eric Finland, and Palehound. As a band, they aim to draw from their wide-reaching influences to create an experience that is accessible to audiences of all kinds.
The name Killdeer Trio comes from the “Killdeer” bird, commonly found in the Upstate NY — the region each member was raised, and now currently resides. Their music is deeply influenced by the rural environment in which it was conceived, reflecting both its quiet serenity, and constant invitation to explore the surrounding unknown. Killdeer Trio blends deep grooves, folk-like melodies, searing electric guitar, and free improvisation into a unique sound that rides the line between Modern Jazz, and popular music.
Chris Riffle’s brand of heartfelt folk is a product—and a tale—of two coasts. There’s no mistaking the pastoral, spacious sound of his roots—the picturesque coastal towns of Washington state, where while still in college Riffle began making waves on local radio stations, and landed support gigs for such indie mainstays as Death Cab for Cutie. Chris' albums have been in rotation at over 150 radio stations & featured on Sirius XM.
Since the release of his last album, Out of Town, Chris has shared the stage with Patti Smith, Blood Orange, Joan As Police Woman; embarked on a national tour supporting Heather Nova; and toured Germany & Belgium. Chris is currently finishing up a new full-length album he recorded with his longtime friend and producer Jimi Zhivago...
